MIA

So now that I have been MIA for the last 3½ weeks, I figured it was about time that I inform you all about what I have been up to… here is what I wrote on the first day on the MV Explorer… (on Jan. 24th)

My voyage around the world begins! It is such a weird feeling to think that a ship, the MV Explorer, will become my home for the next 3½ months. Today is our first full day on the ship and it has been packed with meetings and lectures. However, I managed to squeeze in a good 2 hours of tanning by the pool today. (Rough life, I know)

- Here are some interesting facts about our voyage…
o This is the largest Semester At Sea EVER with 733 students on board!
o The MV Explorer is the fastest moving cruise ship in the world!
o School Representation –
1. Boulder – 80 students
2. Pitt – 35 students
3. MADISON – 23 students (GO BADGERS!)

I can’t believe there are so many Wisconsin students here… it is pretty comforting though to look around and see a few familiar faces! I have no idea what this semester has in store for me… but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

I will be in South Africa tomorrow… but expect a lot more to come! Love and miss you!

XOXO,
Brit
